Terms of Service

Last updated: [DATE]

1. The service

Staff Assist POS ("the Service") is point-of-sale software provided by [YOUR BUSINESS NAME] ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and your business.

2. Free trial and subscriptions

New businesses get a 14-day free trial with no payment method required. After the trial, continued use requires a paid subscription of $35 per month or $360 per year, unless we tell you otherwise in writing. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your card number.

3. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not provide refunds for partial periods unless required by law.

4. If a subscription ends

If your trial or subscription ends, access to the register is paused. We keep your data so you can resume by subscribing again. We may delete data from accounts that stay inactive for [NUMBER] months after giving notice.

5. Your data

You own the data you enter, including items, sales and stock records. You are responsible for its accuracy, for your own tax and accounting records, and for the sales tax rates you set. Staff Assist records payments you take; it does not process card payments.

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the Service, attempt to access another business's data, interfere with its operation, or use it for unlawful activity. You are responsible for activity under your account and your staff's accounts.

7. The Back Booth and guest messages

If you turn on the Back Booth, guests at your venue can post messages and reactions that others in the room can see. You are responsible for what is posted in your room and for moderating it, and you agree to remove content that is unlawful, harassing or hateful. Messages are temporary, are cleared at the end of the night, and can be removed by your staff or by us at any time.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Keep a way to take payment if the Service is unavailable. We may change the Service and will give notice of price changes before they take effect.

9. Liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost sales or profits, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
